1. Scope
This policy explains how Transcript Pro handles microphone audio, speech recognition, transcript text, WAV recordings, local settings, advertising, consent choices, Google Play purchases, sharing, backup/restore and related device permissions.
2. Information stored locally
Transcript Pro may store transcript titles and text, recording status and timestamps, links to saved WAV recordings, transcript-session information, language/theme preferences, advertising-consent state, and a local indicator of Pro/no-ads access. Transcript records are stored locally in the app database and preferences. No Transcript Pro account is required.
3. Microphone, recording and speech recognition
The microphone is used when you start recording/transcription. A foreground microphone service can keep an active session running while the app is not visible. Live transcription uses Android's speech-recognition interface. Depending on the recognition provider and device settings, speech can be processed on-device or by that provider online under its own privacy terms.
4. WAV recordings and local media
Completed recordings can be saved through Android media storage. Transcript Pro keeps a local reference so the recording remains associated with its transcript. Media files can remain on your device until deleted.
5. Advertising in the free version
The free version uses Google Mobile Ads for banner and interstitial ads. Interstitial ads are triggered after eligible user actions and rate-limited by the app. Pro/no-ads users do not receive ads. Transcript Pro does not provide saved transcript text or WAV recordings to Google Mobile Ads for ad targeting.
Google Mobile Ads may process data such as IP address, app/ad interactions, diagnostics and device/account identifiers, including the Android advertising ID where available, for advertising, measurement, analytics, security and fraud prevention.
6. Advertising ID
Google Mobile Ads can use the Android advertising ID where it is available and permitted. Users can reset/delete the advertising ID or change related settings in Android/Google settings.
7. Consent and privacy choices
Transcript Pro integrates Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). Where required, it can request advertising/privacy consent before ads are requested and provide a Privacy choices entry when Google indicates that privacy options must be available.
8. Pro / Remove ads and Google Play Billing
Transcript Pro can offer the one-time Google Play product pro_unlock to remove advertisements. Google Play processes the payment. Transcript Pro does not receive or store full card or bank details. The app can query Google Play to restore existing entitlement.
9. Sharing and exported files
Sharing is user initiated. When you share transcript text, WAV audio or exported packages to another app/service, that recipient handles the content under its own privacy terms. Exported copies can remain outside Transcript Pro after the original is deleted.
10. Backup and restore
Backup and restore are user initiated. A backup can contain transcript data, settings and available WAV recordings. You choose the destination/source through Android's document interfaces.
11. Deletion and retention
Transcript records remain until you delete them, clear app data, replace them during restore or uninstall the app. External exports/backups are separate copies and are not automatically removed.
12. Permissions and device access
The app can use RECORD_AUDIO, foreground-service microphone capabilities, notifications, Internet/network access, Google Play Billing and wake-lock capabilities as required for its features. It does not request precise location, contacts, SMS, call logs or camera access for its core transcription functions.
13. Third-party services
Depending on the feature used, Transcript Pro can interact with Android's selected speech-recognition provider, Google Mobile Ads, Google's User Messaging Platform, Google Play Billing, and apps/services you deliberately choose when sharing/exporting.
14. Children
Transcript Pro is a general-purpose transcription utility and is not specifically directed to children.
15. International processing
Local transcript data and recordings remain on the device unless you choose to share/export them. Advertising, online speech recognition, Google Play and recipient services may process data in countries where they or their providers operate.
16. Security
Transcript Pro is designed to keep core transcript and recording data local except where an online speech-recognition provider is used or you deliberately share/export content. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
17. Your choices
You control recording, Android permissions, available advertising/privacy choices, advertising-ID settings, Pro/no-ads purchase, deletion and sharing/export/backup choices.
18. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when features, permissions, SDKs, advertising configuration or data practices change.
